A Dog In Wedding Clothes

Really, did you ever think you would see a dog in wedding clothes? Well if you happened to read the news lately. I am sure you came across an article about the" Doggie Wedding" that set a world record. It seems dog owner and pet expert Wendy Diamond found another way to raise awareness for our poor, unfortunate pets fate when they find their way to a shelter. As many of us know these guys won't be spending the day shopping for affordable dog clothes nor is it likely they will ever be the dog in wedding clothes.

Diamond's doggie wedding raised 50,000 for the Humane Society. Although the doggie bride's wedding dress was a far cry from what you would consider affordable dog clothes at a whopping 6,000 dollars for the custom Swaraski crystal adorned, silk trained dress. Baby, the bride and fortunate rescue dog, seemed at home with her Groom, Chilly and neither of them looked as if they would ever wear simple dog clothes again.

I admit it was a gala event, you may say it was the doggie event of the year. Of course, you will hear comments like," How ridiculous," and "What a waste of money to put a dog in wedding clothes." When you consider the total price tag of 158,187 dollars and change for the happy event it is hard to dispute this is a lot of money to spend on a doggie wedding! Although this case may be a bit extreme it was for a good cause. Personally, I see nothing wrong with putting clothes on our pooches. In fact affordable dog clothes are cute and very easy to find.

I say if it takes a dog in wedding clothes to stop the inhumane euthanizing of our shelter pets then so be it. Yes, I agree this may be a bit much for some of us but putting clothes on our pets is at times a necessity. Many of our pets live inside with us and we may not realize their body temperature reacts much like ours once they are used to living in a controlled environment. Here in the North East I would not consider taking my pooch outside in the winter without a warm sweater or jacket. In fact I make it a regular practice of being on the look out for unique dog clothes. Although it may be a while before you see my dog in wedding clothes keep in mind there is nothing wrong with buying affordable dog clothes or for that matter dressing your pooch for any occasion.
